Apple pie French toast on the side sausage & peppers

๐ŸŽ Apple Pie French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf brioche or challah bread, thick slices
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk (or half & half for richness)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ยฝ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 can apple pie filling (or 2 fresh apples sliced & cooked with sugar + cinnamon)
  • Butter, for cooking
  • Maple syrup or powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.
  2. Heat a skillet with butter over medium heat.
  3. Dip bread slices into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
  4. Cook each slice until golden brown on both sides (about 2โ€“3 minutes per side).
  5. Top with warm apple pie filling.
  6. Finish with a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of maple syrup.

๐ŸŒถ๏ธ Sausage & Peppers (Side)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage (links or cut into chunks)
  • 2 bell peppers (red + green), sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ยฝ tsp oregano
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sausage and cook until browned (about 6โ€“8 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sautรฉ onions and peppers until soft (about 5 minutes).
  4. Add garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper; cook 1 minute.
  5. Return sausage to pan, toss together, and cook until sausage is fully done.
